Advanced Reading & Math
Advanced Reading offers students the opportunity to experience a novel-based curriculum in a challenging environment!
Each novel has biblical integration, skills lessons, vocabulary, and comprehension questions incorporated into it. These components foster student’s abilities to use higher level and critical thinking skills. There are daily interactive discussions and almost every book has a unique project as as a culminating activity. Students really enjoy making the dioramas, posters, mobiles, culinary creations and exploratory essays!
How does learning in a regular classroom differ from an Advanced Reading Classroom?
Regular Classroom

3rd -6th grades focus on reading to learn
Focus is on reading to learn from 1st to 6th grades
Emphasizes direct instruction

Advanced Math Classroom
All students participating in the Advanced Reading and Advanced Math classes will be responsible, maintain organization, and achieve an 85% or higher grade average within the selected class. Placement in advanced courses is determined through the review of multiple criteria, including but not limited to, achievement testing, ability testing, and teacher recommendation.
