Resource Department

Our mission is to support and equip ALL students to be able to see themselves through Christ’s eyes by providing them with the learning environment and tools necessary for them to become lifelong learners.

We are determined to prepare every child for academic success! Our elementary campus offers a variety of resource programs and services to help students reach their full potential.

Academic Support

Our Tier 2 Literacy Intervention program is available to students who are in need of extra literacy support in addition to what they receive in the classroom. Tier 2 interventions take place in a small group setting for 30 minutes twice a week. Our Tier 2 teachers are in close communication with classroom teachers in order to gear instruction to the specific needs of each student.
Our Full-Time Resource program is available for students who qualify. Full-Time Resource students receive Literacy and/or math instruction outside of the classroom in a small group environment. Students in full-time resource work on grade-level material at their own pace. A Resource Education Plan (REP) is developed for full-time resource students. REPs consist of yearly individual learning goals. These goals are developed for each resource student by a team made up of parents, classroom teachers, resource teachers, and the resource director.
Academic, social-emotional, and medical accommodations are provided to students who qualify in the form of a 504 Plan.

Speech/OT Services

Atlantic Shores Christian School is proud to have a partnership with Ivy Rehab for kids. Ivy Rehab provides weekly Speech and Occupational therapy for our students in need of these services.
Chesapeake Public Schools also provides Speech services at our elementary campus once a week for students who qualify after being evaluated through a screening process.
