Welcome From the Head of School

Welcome to Atlantic Shores Christian School!  We sincerely hope that as you view our website, talk to our staff, and tour our building, you feel the spirit of the Lord in this school.  Partnering with the home and the church to help bring your student up in the training and instruction of the Lord is our greatest goal.  At Atlantic Shores, you will find the perfect blend of top-quality academics and a strong focus on character development.  Our motto is "preparing them for college and for life" and that is truly what you will receive with a Shores education.

Edward L. Brunot
 is a business executive with over 28 years of leadership experience in Supply-chain logistics.  Ed and his family moved to Chesapeake, Virginia in 2006 from California.  From 2006 to 2017, Ed served as the President of MDV and Executive Vice President of SpartanNash (a fortune 500 company).  MDV provides groceries to all military commissaries and exchanges east of the Rocky Mountains and Europe.  Ed also served for a short period of time as the Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Tax. 
Ed is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, West Point serving as a Captain in the United States Army, and is a veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm where he was awarded the Bronze Star.  He holds a BS degree from West Point and an MS degree from the University of Scranton.  Ed married his wife, Patty, in 1987 and they reside in Norfolk, Virginia.  Their son, Luke, a graduate of Atlantic Shores Christian School (2011), earned his BS degree from Virginia Tech (2015) in Applied Mathematics.   
Ed and Patty are firm believers in the value of Christian education in helping to establish a Christ-centered foundation for life.  Their family is also active in the community supporting several non-profit boards that Ed is on, assisting homeless veterans, active-duty military and their families, and the Gold Star community.  Ed and Patty are active members of Greenbrier Church in Chesapeake where Ed has served as an elder since 2016.
