Dear Shores Families,

I pray this email finds you and your extended family well and that by the grace of God you are adjusting to the uncertain times.  Today, Governor Northam announced that schools across Virginia are closing for the rest of the school year.  I want to assure you that we have been preparing for this eventuality and we stand ready to continue the learning process with your students to ensure they are prepared for their next grade level.  Currently there are assignments in our system through the end of this week and we will be uploading two more weeks by Friday.  We will also be rolling out more scheduled live class interactions with teachers as we progress through the rest of the school year.

Over the next couple of days, I have asked Dr. Hall and Ms. Lucas to send out detailed emails to both the elementary and middle/high school parents, detailing as much information as possible about our plans for the rest of the year.  The goal is to ensure we provide a platform of academic excellence during these trying times.

Please keep in mind that this is new for all of us and we look forward to working with you to keep our students engaged.  One thing I know for sure is that every new circumstance and challenge that we face, creates new opportunities for innovation on how we move forward.  I would urge you to reach out directly to your student’s teachers if you or your students need any assistance, and I will update you soon as we process today’s announcement and further our plans.

For His Kingdom,

Edward L. Brunot
