ASCS is a member of the TIDEWATER FORENSIC LEAGUE. This organization is comprised of public and private schools who meet monthly to compete in various speech categories. Most schools, particularly the larger schools, have teams of 20-40 students competing in various categories at the monthly tournaments, with a select few advancing to the Tournament of Champions at the season's end. While the ASCS forensic team is smaller by comparison, members consistently place at the monthly tournaments, and ASCS has sent one or more students to the Tournament of Champions in 16 of the last 20 years!

Our speech class is very closely connected to our Drama Department. The first production that our students and parents attend is the Speech Class II play. This single act play is designed to help train students in the technical and performance requirements of a theatrical production. The play is presented in the spring and attended by students, faculty, and parents.
