The Dramatic arts encourages students to feel, think, and communicate differently. When preparing for a role, as a lighting technician or a lead actor, our students work unto the Lord. They know that each place in the production is vital to the success and ultimate experience of the audience. Most importantly, our productions are given year after year to bring Glory to God. It is our prayer that the dramatic arts will allow our students to fully demonstrate the unique talents and gifting that the Lord has chosen for them.
The dramatic arts program teaches our students to explore the way others think, feel, and respond. It encourages self-awareness and understanding, while polishing their creative skills set. This unique grouping of talents enables our students to succeed in other areas of academic and personal life.
The Atlantic Shores Theatre Department Productions are UNBELIEVABLE year after year! We give God the Glory for our strength in this area and seek to utilize our productions to bless our community.
Secondary Campus students may participate in 2 dramatic productions during the school year. The first production is designed to help train Speech II students in the technical and performance requirements of a theatrical production and in oral interpretation of literature. The second production is our annual Secondary Campus school play.
These events are large scale productions, which have become featured events for Atlantic Shores. Annually, these productions draw a sell-out crowd, with over 1,000 attendees. There are three opportunities to see our annual play, two evening performances and one matinee. The productions vary from serious drama, "The Diary of Anne Frank", to mysteries, "The Mousetrap", to musicals, "Fiddler on the Roof".
