Community

The purpose of our community service program is to fully develop the Christian character trait of servant-hood and the practical nature of a Christ-centered world-view based on the example set by Jesus Christ. Our students, parents, faculty and staff are a community and foster a family-like atmosphere that develops strong, lasting bonds. The relationships developed on campus also allow us to have positive impacts in the surrounding community and civic organizations.

In Matthew 20:25-28, Jesus teaches his disciples that to be great in the kingdom of God, one must be a servant.  Philippians 2:5-8 tells us to have the mind of Christ and that this mind includes the humility of a servant.  We also want to have a positive influence on our community by demonstrating Christian character.

Goals:

1.To exemplify Christ to our community in various ways.  “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:45

2.To teach students, through modeling and group activities, that community service is not hard, but fun and rewarding for others and themselves

3.To provide service opportunities in our community throughout the school year

4.To urge students to find service opportunities on their own and ones they enjoy

5.To be a school that strongly values service to others

Partners for Success - Our Seahawk Volunteers

Volunteers are a key element to the success of our school. The staff at ASCS are fully aware that without the servant's hearts of our friends and families, we would not be nearly as successful as we are. Our Volunteers help provide supervision, coach teams, help out with administrative needs, serve on committees, serve as guest speakers, assist with class activities, chaperone field trips, work concessions, assist in science labs, help maximize learning opportunities, encourage struggling students, smile, and much more!

We invite you to contact the main office for either campus to volunteer your time and expertise.
