For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "Plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

Here at Atlantic Shores, we sincerely believe that all children are “fearfully and wonderfully made,” and are capable of learning and achieving to their potential. Some students may require additional assistance outside the general education classroom as they pursue their learning goals. Resource assistance provides both academic and organizational support, in addition to creating a bridge between the home and the school. Consistent student accountability and positive parental involvement are foundational to the success of the program.

Who is elegible?
The Resource Department currently serves students with a diagnosed specific learning disability, diagnosed ADD or ADHD, Aspergers Syndrome, or other diagnosis that may impact a student's academic performance. Students with other learning challenges may be considered for the Resource program on a case-by-case basis, depending on space availability, the nature of the learning challenge, and the resources available for ASCS to meet the student's educational needs. Testing and other pertinent documentation, such as previous intervention strategies/techniques introduced, teacher recommendations, etc. are required for application to the program.

What do we provide?
Every student is provided with a Resource Service Plan, based on testing data, that is personalized to manage their specific deficit based upon their unique strengths. Students will be taught strategies and study skills in order to help them “learn how to learn”.   A strong work ethic and independence are essential for the program to be beneficial, as students will be required to complete work for this class.
